Benvneuti alla locanda del Sole

The history of the Scognamiglio family began many years ago with Nenenna, a historical figure of Neapolitan cuisine that, in 1936, opened the first trattoria in the Spanish quarters of Naples. Anyone who stopped could taste the real fried meatballs, cod and many other delicacies of Neapolitan cuisine and there was always a meal ready for the most needy. A four-year-old girl was curiously wandering among the Nenenna stoves. His name was Nunzia and had the same passion as his grandmother. Learning to cook for her is like a game. With his little hands she soon learned to knead gnocchi, fry meatballs, bake baba. Always in progress, she became more and more skilled and passionate up to crown his dream to have a restaurant of his own: a few years later the restaurant "La cucina di Nunzia" was born.

In 1956 Nunzia marries Antonio Scognamiglio, former of the California restaurant in the Santa Lucia district of Naples, with large windows and American inspiration. From the union of these two realities, the modem and innovative one of Antonio and the traditional one of Nunzia, in 1980, the restaurant "La Locanda del Sole" was born. And since genetics is not an opinion, the sons Gaetano, Rita, Nando and Umberto managed to carry on the family tradition with the same passion. Even in the last restyling of 2018, the fusion between the old and the new gives the restaurant a revisited look without ever denying its roots.
